BBB Internship
This past summer, I had the great opportunity to intern at the Better Business Bureau in Omaha, NE. Over the 3 months, I worked on multiple projects, including layout designs, social media carousels, and logo designs for new products.Â
I worked closely with their marketing team, collaborating on graphics and collateral related to BBB’s rebrand in March 2026.Â
One of the largest projects I got to dive my time into was their annual torch awards banquet, where they recognize and award businesses in their service area for integrity, ethics, and trust. This program was done entirely in InDesign, and its cover was completed in Illustrator.

In July, IABBB had a press release discussing how accredited businesses can properly integrate AI into their current systems without handing over full control and creating unease among their customers. I was asked to make this graphic as soon as we received confirmation of the release, and I got to work with my peer who created the type content.
I focused on my typography, letting it fit prominently on the page, with the background as a secondary element to tie the carousel together. With the discussion on AI, I wanted my design to feel the opposite of that, acting as a physical desktop someone could feel and touch, with paper elements to complement.
With an event as big as the World Cup, BBB wanted to warn customers about the possibility of scams involving resellers or websites. Working from my peer’s template and content type, I was able to create a flow that moves from slide to slide. I love creating carousels that move into each other; there is also something fun about finding imagery that fits the topic!

This 16-page program was the overarching project I worked on throughout the three months I was with the BBB. I was introduced to the project in my first week, and over the course of 12 weeks, while balancing other projects, I completed the design on my last day in the office. Created using Adobe InDesign, I worked on creating a cohesive page layout, setting type sizes, managing ad sizes, and much more.
I started with their past programs, looking for inspiration in what has already worked in the past. Then, I moved towards my own page development, setting the type sizes, hierarchy, and color content. Once I had an idea of the ad sizes, I was able to design the content and place it in a similar order to the event’s actual program.
